Interviewing with HR is a like a boss battle that just isn't necessary. Talented people are turned away, put into zoom meetings and judged like its a hearing for a criminal offense. What is this culture fit anyway? More like cult-fit.
Ending discrimination in hiring practices.
Community ChatDiscrimination is a common problem, I have been subject to extreme corporate discrimination just due to my beard and awesome long hair. At one time I did an experiment and posted a pic of myself clean cut looking for jobs. It made quite a difference. This is when I knew shit was screwed up and I needed to set an example. :Zachary said.
How Zachary changed this is hiring according to skill. He has no job applications, therefore what your age is, sex or disability status is not a factor. Nor is how you look because he doesn't do interviews. He created a discord server for hiring based on performance.
Inside his server he has a series of what he calls pits, where challengers are asked to complete various tasks in all areas of technology and cyber security. The tasks have time limits and range in various difficulty. He says this simulates the demands of cyber itself, the stress of it and the skills level required to be in it.
Equal pay for all.
The CEO has done something also no tech company has ever done. He pays his employees equally. For example, if employees nail a 100k bug bounty he splits it evenly across the team responsible for that particular win. If employees are being sub-contracted under him at a rate of 200an hr, he gives them exactly half of that an hr. No tech CEO has ever done this.
His entire infrastructure is off-grid and it costs him as much to run his company as it costs him to survive he says. He claims their collective labor pays for the company itself and that they don't need investors, which allows CDS to work within budgets better than anyone else and his talent pool expands to far beyond the employees which he has made visible. The majority of individuals who work for him remain anonymous and his clients also remain anonymous because they care about privacy he claims.
